Provision: An amount or thing supplied; your daily sustenance. but sometimes it’s found in places you wouldn’t expect.
I wrote this entry on provision the other day for a closed Facebook group I’m in… and it’s been on my heart to share it with my readers ever since. It’s short and sweet but was a HUGE encouragement to me. I hope it’s encouraging to you as well!
I was reading a good ole Derek Prince book recently called “Does Your Tongue Need Healing?” And I stumbled upon a Scripture that stood out to me and I had to follow it up by reading it in its context. I ended up reading Numbers 13:27-14:10… you can go ahead and read all of it if you like but let me hone in on two particular verses: (Caleb is speaking here after he and the other spies returned from Canaan)
14:8-9, if the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do NOT fear them.
…nor fear the people (the so-called giants; the Israelites’ enemy and difficulty/challenge/trial) of the land, for they are our bread.
WOW! I never thought of my challenges or my difficulties or my trials being my bread! My challenges, the things I need to face head on and run over with violent force, are my bread. There is ALWAYS provision in our trials and challenges.
Whatever you are facing today, please be encouraged. You have provision in your challenge. Do NOT fear it. Whatever tries to hinder you tries to prevent you from obtaining what is rightfully yours — an exceedingly good land that is flowing with milk and honey. You are not a grasshopper trying to return to Egypt (your place of comfort and familiarity). You are a powerful person full of light and truth and peace and joy and every good and perfect gift! You are full of provision!
Bless the Lord!!! I am so grateful for the provision that is available to me at every waking moment of my life. My focus for this day is to simply thank the Lord for the abundance of provision He brings me.
